If the acceptance level is more than the expectancy level, the growth becomes stagnant. The life seems satisfying and peaceful at times but in long run it becomes frustrating and depressing if expectancy level is not taken care of. Creativity get lost, actions and hard work towards the goal get slow down and hoping for the better life becomes the only activity. Overall it becomes a positive but mediocre life. Healthy expectancy level is required along with acceptance level so that one is aware of his limitations and of others. This gives a profound platform to work hard in the right direction and get successful.
In this fast moving and highly competitive world it is natural that expectancy level of parents and teachers is high. It should be taken care of that high expectancy should be to make the child confident, growth oriented, achiever and successful but not out of insecurity but with love, trust and compassion.
On the other hand if the expectancy level is higher than the acceptance level it makes things difficult. There is nothing wrong in expecting a high result, that is needed at times to move forward, set goals and work hard to achieve it. Here acceptance level plays a very important role. Accepting one’s strength, weakness, limitations, situations, circumstances, beliefs, work ethics and thought process is very necessary. Accepting facts is 80% of the hard work. Every individual is unique, accepting oneself whole heartedly is a challenge. Many a times in life time comes mostly in adverse situation when a question arises in mind that Why me? Why it happens with me? And lots of time and energy is wasted by just getting buried in these questions. Here comes the need to accept yourself and your situation lovingly and then you will get all the energy to reach to your expectancy level no matter how high it is. Once you accept you start working on your weakness, nurture your strength, you find the power and strength which the adverse situation is giving you. You get enough clarity how to reach to your expectancy level.
Every individual plays multiple roles in his life. Each role has its own acceptance and expectancy level with other. It should be understood that the acceptance and expectancy level of each role should be in harmony with the other to be successful. For e.g. a student has its own acceptance and expectancy level, the parents have their own for their child and the teacher has some for the student. Often there is clash among this. Nobody has to change their levels for the sake of others but help each other to bring the acceptance and expectancy level to the right proportion and help the student to achieve his goal and get the desired success.
