Nobody wants stress but it has being accepted so well by people that they hardly think that they can get rid of it and sometimes feels that it is okay to be stressed. When given a chance everyone wants a stress free life. It is possible let us understand what stress is all about. In medical or biological context stress is physical, mental or emotional factor that causes bodily or mental tensions. Stress can be external from environment, psychological and social situation or internal such as illness or medical procedure. It is a state of psychological and physiological imbalance resulting from the disparity between situational demand and the individual’s ability.
People want to be in comfort zone which they think is the only way to be happy and enjoy life and hence when it is not possible they are stressed. Priorities, needs, wishes, desires and demands are different and there is always clash between these which results in stress.
Stress can be divided in three major categories – physical, mental and emotional stress. In today’s world everyone plays multiple roles. Their personal and professional life has its own demand. It becomes difficult to handle and balance each of them. To be successful and happy nothing can be left out. The result is either physical stress, mental stress or emotional stress. Amidst all these happenings stress free life is the desire of all and it is possible.
Physical stress results due to over work, improper diet and nutrition and less or no exercise. It is easy to overcome physical stress when few things are taken care of. Working with planning and time management can reduce over work. Proper food and nutrition should be taken and exercise should be included on daily basis religiously. It is a matter of commitment with self and it is possible.
Mental stress is usually caused when you procrastinate, have lots of pending works, unsorted things going around and thinking a lot all the time. It drains out physical energy and you undergo physical stress also. To overcome mental stress the need is to get well organized, manage time efficiently and see that the work is done on time.
Emotional stress is very common now days. In the fast moving world people have less time and energy to maintain and enjoy relations to be emotionally healthy. This results in emotional stress which steals all the happiness and health. Few things should be taken care of to overcome emotional stress and get free from it. Quality time, acceptance, respect for each other, gratitude, love and care for the people in your life, forgiveness and a positive attitude towards the people and situations. It is easy to be emotionally stress free once worked on it as that is the only thing people need at the end of the day. Once you are emotionally healthy you have all the physical and mental energy which leads to a stress free life.
Stress of any kind is a contributor to ill health and diseases like diabetes and heart problems so it is responsibility of everyone towards self to be stress free to be happy and healthy.
